Annual Golf Tournament a Success

Those present at the CEDARS 19th Annual Golf Tournament lifted watchful eyes to the morning's gray clouds on Thursday, May 6. Their wishes for fair weather were granted shortly after the shotgun start at 1:00 pm when the sun broke through and made for a beautiful afternoon on the Woodland Hills Golf course in Eagle, Neb.

Nearly $50,000 was raised during the golf tournament and will go directly to the children and families cared for by CEDARS. "Good Golf, Great Cause" - the theme for this year's tournament - brought 130 golf enthusiasts, donors and supporters of CEDARS together to enjoy a day of golf while raising funds to support children and families.

"It's the support from the local business and community that allow (CEDARS) to care for some of the community's most vulnerable children," said CEDARS President/CEO Jim Blue.

Some of the many sponsors and donors for CEDARS tournament included Barclay Construction, KLIN and Outback Steak House. A Lexus SUV and a T.O. Haas Tire gift card were just a few of the many individual hole prizes.

A live auction during the meal following the tournament gave golfers an opportunity to bid on travel packages and gift certificates all while supporting the children at CEDARS.
