New Crisis Center Unveiled
CEDARS President/CEO Jim Blue addressed a group of donors, supporters and staff members on Tuesday, June 15 during the unveiling ceremony of the new CEDARS Crisis Center.
The center, located at 6601 Pioneers Blvd., was recently finished and will allow CEDARS to have the space and resources to care for more children than ever before.
"This center has been in the planning stages for many years," Blue said. "It couldn't have been possible without the people here today. This building will be a refuge for children in need for many years."
Among the CEDARS supporters present were Lincoln's Mayor Chris Beutler, who spoke a few words about his gratefulness for the work CEDARS does in the community. Also in attendance were Honorary Fundraising Chairperson, First Lady Sally Ganem, representatives from Senator Ben Nelson and Senator Jeff Fortenberry. Davis Design, a Lincoln-based company who was responsible for the building's architecture was also present at the unveiling along with many other community members.
Blue said the new crisis center was a labor of love built with the vision of becoming an even more effective and capable resource for children and families who are in crisis.
