Annual Luau Brings Children, Staff and Volunteers Together
The 2010 CEDARS Luau on Thursday, June 10 went off without a hitch. CEDARS children and families joined staff and volunteers at Holmes Lake Park to have a Hawaiian-themed social event.
With tropical music and leis everywhere, the guests set out to enjoy the evening with a dunk tank featuring CEDARS staff, inflatable obstacle courses and face painting, among other things.
The children especially had fun playing volleyball and Frisbee with the staff and volunteers. For when the guests were ready for a break from the festivities, there was grilled chicken and hot dogs ready for them.
A highlight of the evening was a performance from the Trade Wind Dancers, who displayed an authentic Hawaiian and Tahitian dance routine -- it was truly a luau atmosphere. This event could not have been possible without the help and support of CEDARS staff and volunteers who donated their time and resources.
