CEDARS Achieves Reaccreditation from the Council on Accreditation

CEDARS has achieved full reaccreditation from the Council on Accreditation (COA), an international organization focused on not-for-profit, child- and family-service and behavioral healthcare agency accreditation. This is the third time COA has accredited CEDARS.

“I am very proud of the entire CEDARS organization for their continued hard work and dedication to vulnerable children and families in our community. It truly takes a unified effort to provide the safety and stability that they deserve,” commented Jim Blue, CEDARS President/CEO.

During a four day on-site visit in November, COA reviewers from across the country engaged in an in-depth analysis of the CEDARS organization and found it to be meeting each of the over 200 performance standards set by COA.

Reviewers, who were particularly knowledgeable in the area of services to children and families, remarked that CEDARS embodied a culture of support and teamwork, marked by a positive regard and mutual respect for their clients and staff teammates. Additionally, particular praise was given for the agency’s partnership with other non-profits, educational institutions and governmental bodies in the community, supporting the opportunity for life-long change for vulnerable children and families. Reviewers provided feedback to the agency that re-iterated the value of the organization’s service to its clientele, who mentioned that they felt safe in CEDARS care and that the team was there to support them for the long haul.

CEDARS has been working to help kids in crisis and build strong families since 1947. The agency serves Southeast Nebraska through the provision of out-of-home programs, family support and prevention services, early childhood development, and juvenile justice programming to over 1,000 children and youth each day.
