CEDARS Earns GuideStar’s Highest Seal of Transparency

CEDARS recently earned a 2019 Platinum Seal of Transparency, the highest level of recognition offered by GuideStar, the world’s largest source of nonprofit information.

At the Platinum Seal level of transparency, donors are given access to information about an organization’s impact and results. By sharing metrics that highlight CEDARS’ work toward its mission, the organization is helping donors move beyond simplistic ways of nonprofit evaluation such as overhead ratios.

To reach the Platinum level, CEDARS added extensive information to its GuideStar Nonprofit Profile which is available at www.guidestar.org. By taking the time to provide this information, CEDARS has demonstrated its commitment to transparency and to giving donors and funders meaningful information to evaluate nonprofit performance.

CEDARS’ passion for helping kids in crisis and building strong families has been fueled by community involvement and support for over 70 years. Since its founding in Lincoln in 1947, the organization has been on a mission to provide safe refuge to children and youth who have no other safe place to spend the night.

This past year, CEDARS served 2,441 individuals and 194 families.
