CEDARS helps children and youth achieve safety, stability, and enduring family relationships. CEDARS has been serving vulnerable children and youth for over 70 years with a committed and experienced staff and a unique wrap-around approach to helping kids and families.


  • Offers a free, confidential program designed to be a resource for parents who have questions regarding their child’s behavior, parenting struggles or family permanency concerns
  • Provides families a home visitor to help understand the when, what, how and why of child development
  • Serves families with children ages birth through 18 years
  • Assists families with giving their children a healthy start


  • Provide short-term, free and voluntary case management and crisis response for families at Elliott and Belmont Elementary Schools through the Community Response program
  • Develop and maintain supportive relationships with assigned families and their children
  • Complete intakes and assessments
  • Ensure all documentation and tracking of services is completed and up to date per grant and programmatic requirements
  • Develop family driven service plans
  • Coordinate care and advocate for family’s needs
  • Conduct visits in the family’s home or location of their choice in order to understand their specific needs, family dynamic and culture
  • Guide program participants through the process of application, qualification, and re-determination for SSI, SSDI, Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, and other services as needed
  • Utilize evidence-based curriculum and assessments to support the direction of services and educate on child development
  • Work with the interdisciplinary teams within the assigned Lincoln Public Schools to provide resources and supports that best meet the needs of families


Monday-Friday with variable hours between the times of 8:00am and 7:00pm


  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, human services or a closely related field
  • You have at least 2 years of experience working with children and families and/or experience in home visitation services
  • You have knowledge of developmental milestones and child development
  • You are adaptable, compassionate and trauma informed
  • You have access to a reliable vehicle for use
  • You have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
