Coming Soon: CEDARS Activity Center

We’re thrilled to share that CEDARS is expanding our Emergency Shelter with the addition of a vital new space: CEDARS Activity Center! This much-needed indoor facility will provide kids in our care with a safe environment to play, move, and thrive. Whether it's for exercise, recreation, or simply a chance to be kids, CEDARS Activity Center represents a meaningful step forward in supporting the well-being of every kid we serve. 

CEDARS Activity Center will be a 6,900-square-foot multiuse space to promote wellness, healing, and community while building confidence and giving kids a place to move despite the weather.  

Features of CEDARS Activity Center include a large gym and court that can be used for basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and more; a cardio exercise and strength training room; and a studio for group fitness classes such as yoga or pilates.  

This new space will have a meaningful impact on kids in CEDARS care by giving them access to recreational opportunities designed just for them. These are youth who don’t currently have stable living situations and are missing out on a key part of growing up: being part of a team. Team activities offer more than just physical activity; they help kids build emotional regulation, leadership, teamwork, and important social skills in a supportive setting. 

We began building CEDARS Activity Center in the fall of 2024, and construction has since been moving along at a steady pace. The building will officially open towards the end of 2025, just in time for kids to have a warm and safe space to be active when weather conditions can be unpredictable. We are thrilled for this important expansion to soon be here and for it to be used by kids for years to come.
