Youth Intervention

For kids who are involved with the youth justice system or are at high risk of becoming involved, CEDARS provides positive development programs. These programs focus on preventing future law violations and preparing kids for a successful life in the community. In these programs, kids receive support in the areas of education, employment, fundamental living skills, crisis intervention and building healthy relationships.

Ecological In-Home Family Services

The Ecological Model is an evidence-based program that uses a strength-focused intervention design to provide home and community support for kids and families. This program utilizes in-home, family visits to build stronger family bonds, improve safety and connect them to community resources. These goals are accomplished through careful assessment and service planning, direct family engagement, implementation of relationship building, stress management and problem-solving strategies.

Motivational Interviewing

CEDARS offers Motivational Interviewing, a collaborative, goal-oriented style of communication with particular attention to the language of change. The service is designed to strengthen personal motivation for, and commitment to, a specific goal by eliciting and exploring the person's own reasons for change within an atmosphere of acceptance and compassion.

Community Youth Coaching

Community Youth Coaching is a youth-guided, family-driven service that provides intensive relationship building, skill-building and positive youth development as an alternative to detention.

Education Services

In partnership with the Nebraska Department of Education, CEDARS supports youth by providing individualized educational services to re-engage youth with their education and increase their chances of academic success.
